Comparison of the Pathomorphological and Immunohistochemical Findings of Experimental Co-infection Created with Infectious Bronchitis Virus M-41 and Bordetella Avium in Chicks

In this experimental study, our objective was to investigate the macroscopic, microscopic and immunohistochemical findings developed in respiratory system due co-infection with infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) M-41 commensal Bordetella avium tract 15-day-old female Brown-Nick chicks. a total of 70 non-SPF, healthy chicks were randomized into 4 groups. The Group 1 (n=20) infected only IBV-M41 strain; 2 B. avium; 3 given avium. (n = 10) sterile physiological saline at same dose route. administration strains performed an intranasal injection. On 2nd-7th., 9th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 18th days post-inoculation, from groups chick control group sacrificed. 1, degenerative inflammatory changes, which observed 2nd day infection, disappeared on 15th day. 2, we noticed bacterial colonies mucous exudate containing heterophile leukocytes lumens trachea larynx. Starting 13th day, related recovery e.g., noticed. microscopical examination tissues by immunohistochemistry immunofluorescent methods, antigenic distribution upper between 5th 9th days. However, lungs involved 11th 7th 2. conclusion, determined that progress relatively milder primarily IBV-M41and lasted longer co-infected IBV caused severe symptoms case co-infection.
